FAQs

Answers to our most frequently asked questions.

  • During your first session, your therapist will provide a comprehensive assessment, exploring your personal history and present-day concerns. You'll also work collaboratively to identify your goals and what you hope for in the therapeutic process.

  • The frequency of our sessions depends on your goals. We'll work together to decide the right frequency for you.

We specialize in supporting people as early as parenthood contemplation up until your first year of postpartum. If you wish to continue working with a therapist, we will provide referrals to another therapist that can continue supporting your mental health needs during parenthood.

  • Virtual psychotherapy services, also known as Telehealth services, are provided to clients in the state of Illinois.

  • Of course, we want to support all people from all backgrounds and experiences. We highlight amplifying BIPOC communities because we acknowledge systemic issues that trouble people of color. Oppression creates disparities in access to quality, attainable mental health support. We want to extend our services to people experiencing the backlash of systemic racism.

  • Perinatal is the period occurring in, concerned with, or around the time of birth. Perinatal mental health encompasses the stages of pursuing parenthood and anything that may occur during that journey, including; navigating trying to conceive, infertility, pregnancy loss, abortion, TFMR, single parenthood by choice, depression and anxiety during pregnancy, postpartum depression and anxiety, preterm deliveries, NICU admissions, and birth trauma.

  • Unfortunately, no. We've specifically created a space for perinatal support because there's a need. Many people, especially people of color, suffer in silence because there's little knowledge of the symptoms of mood and anxiety disorders in pregnancy and in the postpartum period. We also want to specifically support those navigating infertility, perinatal loss, birth trauma, and alternative methods for family building
